Ed's first position in the financial industry was working as a financial sales representative for First National Bank of Maryland. This position focused on retail account opening and mutual fund/annuity investing. From there he moved into the brokerage industry with his relocation to BT Alex. Brown in 1997. Ed has been employed with Alex. Brown through its many variations over the last 20 plus years.
During his tenure at Alex. Brown, he has worked in the Private Wealth Management Group with a focus on institutional accounts and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Ed's experience has also focused in the areas of international stock option plans and non-profit organizations with large endowments.
By nomination, Ed was the first Alex. Brown member of the firm's Branch Associate Advisory Board, a forum of client service associates and other branch personnel, selected from each division, with varying responsibilities and experiences that acts as a liaison between the branch office and home office departments. Ed was also selected to participate in the firm's Registered Associate Mentoring Program, for the 2017 - 2018 year. This program helps a select group of registered associates navigate the career shift to financial advisor.
In his free time, you can find Ed cheering for his favorite sports teams. He enjoys collecting sport memorabilia, fishing with his father and playing golf whenever he can. Ed is also an active member with his church community. Ed resides in Parkton, Maryland with his wife Holly and daughter, Hailey.
Ed is a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a degree in economics. He currently holds Series 7, 63, 66 and his Life Health & Annuities licenses. He also holds the designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ (AAMS™).
