Stephen Kelleher Director

Steve has worked in the financial services industry since 1993, serving a wide range of clients that includes business owners, corporate executives, foundations, endowments and retirees. He takes pride in delivering top-notch advice and service to his clients, diligently preparing for every conversation and following up on every decision made.

He is deeply skilled at working with both the asset and liability sides of the balance sheet, and advising clients on how to structure it to help maximize their success. His goal is to position clients optimally so they can enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Prior to joining Alex. Brown in 2018, Steve worked at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Boston, where he provided advice to real estate, private equity and hedge fund partners and executives of public and private companies. Previously, Steve worked with U.S. Trust in Minneapolis and the Citi Private Bank in New York City. Steve began his career in finance as an investment banker in the financial sponsors/leveraged finance group of Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior to joining the banking industry, he worked as a CPA* within Arthur Andersen’s audit practice in Boston.

Steve is actively involved in the community and holds a leadership role in several prominent organizations. He is the vice chairman of the board of the Boston College Club and is chair of the Yale School of Management Alumni Association of Boston, and a board member of the Yale Club of Boston.

Steve is from Worcester and lives in Hingham with his wife, Kate, and their children, Jack, Maggie and Caroline. In his free time, Steve enjoys hiking, traveling and following Boston College sports. He is also an avid reader of U.S. history
