Robert is responsible for the Institutional Consulting business development effort within the Institutional Fiduciary Solutions group of Raymond James. Robert has been in the investment management business for 27 years and manages the team of institutional specialists supporting Institutional Consultants at Raymond James whose focus is the larger more complex Institutional and Retirement plan sector. Prior to joining Raymond James in 2006, Robert spent 9 years at McDonald Investments, Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio, where he last served as Director of the Managed Assets Group. Previous to McDonald, Mr. Burns worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and during his military service he proudly served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Mr. Burns holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Bowling Green State University as well as the CFA and AIF designations. In addition, he is a graduate of the Security Industry Institute, an executive education program of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the CFA Institute, and the Tampa Society of Security Analysts.
