Chris has provided sophisticated financial and family wealth planning services to high-net-worth clients, including corporate executives, business owners, professional athletes and other professionals such as physicians and attorneys, and their families for over 23 years. Specifically assisting corporate executives with stock option planning, and business owners and their families with succession planning. Chris has also counseled individuals and families on planned charitable giving and education planning strategies.

Prior to joining Raymond James (which included starting with Morgan Keegan in September 2003), Chris worked in the Private Client Services group of Arthur Andersen LLP in both Memphis, Tennessee, and Little Rock, Arkansas, for 12½ years (until the firm closed) and then a Memphis CPA firm for 15 months. While in public accounting, Chris provided income, estate and gift tax compliance and planning services as well as financial planning services to clients.

Chris is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, and received his Bachelor of Accounting (1985), Master of Accounting with an emphasis in taxation (1987) and his Doctor of Jurisprudence (1989) from the University of Mississippi. He is a CPA in Tennessee (active but non-practicing) and was licensed to practice law in both Tennessee (active but non-practicing) and Mississippi (inactive) in 1990.

Chris is a Registered Representative with the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), a licensed life and health insurance agent (Tennessee) and variable annuity agent (Tennessee), and a Registered Investment Advisor Representative with the Securities and Exchange Commission. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants; and the American, Tennessee, Memphis and Mississippi bar associations (Tax and Real Property, Probate & Trust Sections). Chris is also a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, and a board member and former treasurer of the Mid-South Chapter of the American Red Cross.
